Create an outdoor space that feels like home
Learn how to plan your landscape
step-by-step, with 6 weeks of expert guidance
Design Together
April 22nd – May 31st, 2026
The outside of your home deserves as much love as the inside
And you deserve a yard that you love
You've put thought into the inside of your home. But step outside, and something's still missing.
Maybe it's a yard that never quite came together, or a blank space full of potential and zero plan.
Your outdoor space can be so much more! Imagine stepping outside into a space planned around how you actually want to live. An extension of home.
Most people never get there. Not for lack of caring, but because they don't have a clear plan.
This spring, let's plan your yard together.

You're invited to join Design Together
6 weeks of live, online guidance to help you plan the outdoor living space you've always wanted
April 22nd, join a small, supportive group guided by a landscape designer to work on your outdoor spaces together.
You’ll learn how to plan and design your outdoor space, step by step, with expert support.
No gardening experience, no design degree, no special software, no artistic talent required.
By the end of six weeks, you'll have a real, usable yard layout plan and the clarity to bring it to life.
This is for you, if…
✏️ Why this kind of planning matters
A lot of outdoor projects stall out (or become frustrating) because there’s no clear plan holding everything together.
This process gives you that structure.
So instead of guessing, you can:
Imagine stepping outside...
And instead of seeing a list of unfinished projects…
You see a space that makes sense.
A space that reflects you.
A space you actually want to spend time in.

“I have a great sense of joy in my little slice of paradise. I’d do it all over again. When Eve and I started with landscape design, I wanted minimal maintenance, year-round interest, in a unique garden with color, a wide variety of plants and a natural habitat (no chemicals)… Today my garden is a natural oasis with a wide variety of birds and insects. I am truly thrilled with the results.”
– Will Norman
Here's what we'll work through together:

WEEK 1: See your space with new eyes
Class 1: Wednesday, April 22nd, 5pm Pacific Time
Q&A 1: Saturday, April 25th, 10am Pacific Time
Before you plan anything, you need to understand what you're working with. You'll survey your space for its unique strengths and quirks, get clear on what you want, and start gathering inspiration that will act as your guide.

WEEK 2: Get your ideas on paper
Class 2: Wednesday, April 29th, 5pm Pacific Time
Q&A 2: Friday, May 1st, 5pm Pacific Time
Time to take measurements and draw the base map. The base map is the foundation for the rest of the design process (I’ll walk you through it, no stress). We'll explore mapping options and tools that are helpful even for larger yards or slopes.

WEEK 3: Start designing
Class 3: Wednesday, May 6th, 5pm Pacific Time
Q&A 3: Thursday, May 7th, 5pm Pacific Time
This is where you'll begin shaping your ideas. Step-by-step, we'll take your inspiration and turn it into a real layout. You'll use the same creative strategies professional designers use, adapted for someone planning their own space.

WEEK 4: Make it real
Class 4: Wednesday, May 13th, 5pm Pacific Time
Q&A 4: Saturday, May 16th, 10am Pacific Time
This is where we think about how the space will function day-to-day. You'll test your ideas, and begin breaking your vision into manageable steps for installation. You'll think through maintenance, explore material interactions, and identify irrigation zones.

WEEK 5: Bring in the plants
Class 5: Wednesday, May 20th, 5pm Pacific Time
Q&A 5: Friday, May 22nd, 5pm Pacific Time
You'll learn how to choose plants that will thrive in all corners of your design, create a design palette (color, textures, and materials) and keep your plant list organized for smart, efficient shopping.

WEEK 6: Finish with a plan you're proud of
Class 6: Wednesday, May 27th, 5pm Pacific Time
Q&A 6: Saturday, May 30th, 10am Pacific Time
Refine your layout, finalize your planting vision, and prioritize your phases. Walk away with a yard plan that's entirely yours and the confidence to begin.
“Eve has a gift for breaking down what can feel like an overwhelming process into clear, manageable steps. I'm now learning to plan thoughtfully, focus on the details that matter, and approach my landscape design with intention rather than impulse. The practical skills I've gained are already making a real difference in how I envision and create my outdoor spaces."
– Courtney C.
"If you feel like you are hitting your head against a brick wall, I can confidently say you will find your breakthrough here. This is a very good course. It makes you think about things you hadn't even thought of thinking about... I am approaching my garden with a lot more confidence now."
– Alison R.
“I had a yard that was bland and with an uninspiring and uninviting outdoor living space... Finding the Design-Your-Own Landscape class was a stroke of luck for me. I was intimidated and overwhelmed with all the options and process in designing my own landscape. The class has made the process logical, understandable, and manageable. Eve has created a step-by-step process that is easy to follow.”
– Brian R.
You'll walk away with a layout plan you can actually use
Whether you're installing your design yourself, doing it in phases over a few years, or working with a landscape contractor who needs to understand your vision, you'll finish Design Together with a hand-drawn yard layout plan that makes all of that easier.
A plan is a tool. It keeps your vision clear when decisions get overwhelming. It saves you from costly mistakes. It lets you move at your own pace without losing the thread of what you wanted. And it means that no matter who helps you along the way, your vision stays at the center.

About Your Teacher
Hi, I’m Eve!
I’m a landscape designer and gardening teacher who specializes in helping people create outdoor spaces they can actually live in and love.
Spaces that aren’t just beautiful, but outdoor extensions of home that make our lives and communities better. Whether that’s supporting wildlife, growing food, or simply slowing down outside.
I'm based in the mossy Pacific Northwest corner of the USA, but I help people all over the world to plan their own outdoor spaces. I started Garden Project Academy to make this kind of guidance available to everyone, and have since helped hundreds of students all over the world.
Over the years, I’ve found that the most meaningful landscapes don’t come from designers who hand off a vision.
They come from people being guided through their own.
That’s what this course is designed to do.
You might be wondering...
"I'm already working with a landscape designer or contractor. Is this still useful?"
Absolutely. Having your own clear vision makes every conversation with a designer or contractor more productive. You'll know what you want, why you want it, and how to communicate it.
That means less guesswork, fewer revisions, and a result that actually reflects your goals.
You're not starting from scratch and hoping someone else figures out what you want. You're showing up with a vision. Designers and contractors work best when their clients know what they're after, and this course helps you get there.
"This isn't my strength. Will I actually be able to design something good?"
This course was designed for people who feel exactly this way. You don't need gardening experience, artistic skills, design software, or even a clear vision when you start. The process builds all of that gradually, one step at a time, in a small supportive group.
What makes a design "good" isn't technical skill. It's knowing what you want and having a process to get it on paper. That's exactly what these six weeks give you.
"Is this just for people with big landscaping budgets?"
This course is for anyone who has an outdoor space they care about, regardless of what they plan to spend on it. A thoughtful plan actually stretches your budget further by helping you avoid costly mistakes, prioritize what matters most, and install your design in phases over time. Good planning isn't a luxury. It's how you make the most of whatever budget you have.
"What if I can't make the live classes?"
All sessions are recorded so you won't miss anything. And with three years of access to the course materials, you can revisit everything long after the six weeks are done. Even if from recordings, there's something valuable about following along week-to-week in real time. Having a structure to work within, a group moving through the process alongside you, and a reason to keep making progress on your space every week is something a self-paced course just can't replicate.
The six-week structure gives you a gentle rhythm to work within, and knowing that a group of people are all making progress on their spaces at the same time has a way of keeping you moving too. No pressure, just good company to help you get your plan done this spring.
"How much time do I need to set aside each week?"
Design Together is 6 weeks long and runs from April 20th until the end of May.
You have the option to attend two live, 90-minute sessions per week (or enjoy the replays).
I recommend setting aside an evening or so each week (1-5 hours) to work on your design.
Especially in the first two weeks, plan to spend time outside. This is when you'll be exploring your space and taking measurements to draw your base map.
The pre-recorded, self-paced part of the course resources includes about 10 hours of video content (some content is optional + bonus material). It’s like watching a movie per week for 5 weeks. You'll have access to this for 3 years, so go as fast or as slow as you'd like.
"What's included?"
Six live, online workshops that guide you through the yard planning process, 6 live Q&As to get your questions answered, and 3 years access to Design-Your-Own Landscape Layout (a self-paced course you can return to for resources).
The VIP tier also gets priority questions in the Q&A, two additional Q&As (for two weeks of extra support), and bonus resources. The bonus resources include an introduction to low-maintenance gardening course, "Green Thumb in an Hour," and the workshops "How to save money on plants" (to help you source high quality, low-cost plants for installation), "Wildlife Gardening 101" (how to create an oasis for living creatures in your yard), & "Who wants to be a mulch-ionaire?" (a game-show themed workshop about how to naturally prevent weeds using mulch). The first 5 people to join the VIP tier also get a 90 minute one-on-one session with me to get your questions answered.
"What's the difference? Design Together vs. Design-Your-Own Landscape Layout?"
You get both!
Design-Your-Own Landscape Layout is pre-recorded and always available.
Design Together is Design-Your-Own Landscape Layout plus extra guidance! You get 6 weeks of live, online classes & Q&As for extra help, starting April 20th.
The accountability of working alongside other do-it-yourselfers over 6 weeks will help you finish your design, so you can begin installation this spring.

“Beginners through seasoned gardeners are benefitting from Eve's course. She imparts basic information to those just starting out but is willing to brainstorm with more experienced folks who have encountered unique problems in their landscapes."
– Constance M.
“My only concern was that it would actually provide me with enough information to create a landscaping plan....it turned out above and beyond what I expected. I would say that it is a lifesaving course if you are unsure about designing your own landscape. It saved me a ton of time and money (both extremely precious nowadays).”
– Brenda S.
“Before I felt like I had to spend a lot of money to get the outdoor space of my dreams, but now I feel like I can create it myself for a fraction of the cost and use professional expertise more effectively, and not as a crutch.”
– Paige E.
