When you walk into a yard designed with wildlife in mind?

The difference is immediately breathtaking. Swirls of butterflies and colorful native bees over plantings. Shrubs alive with chirping birds. Dragonflies that dart overhead. Frogs and crickets that sing the evening to sleep. Some yards truly vibrate with life!

The great news: it’s possible to make a positive impact in just one growing season. I’ve seen monarch butterflies and the cutest long-horned native bees show up after just one growing season. And if you have a few years to watch plants grow, you can support a backyard ecosystem.

You’re probably aware of the basics (like avoiding pesticides) but we’ll dive deeper into the more fascinating fundamentals and tactical steps you can take.

You'll walk away with ideas for bite-sized projects that easily increase the number of living creatures your yard can support.

Even if you’re brand new to gardening.
Even if you’re on a budget.

Supporting wildlife is absolutely possible with a just few changes to your landscaping approach.

In this workshop, you will learn...

Low-cost, bite-sized steps you can take to increase the wildlife your yard can support
Fascinating fundamentals that go beyond the obvious (because you probably already know that pesticides kill bugs)
A specific action plan for YOUR space (bring your questions!) so you can get started right away

This workshop will be hosted live, online via Zoom.

If you can't attend live, that's okay! The replay will be available for 30 days.

When you register, you'll create an account that you'll use to access an online portal. This is where resources and the replay will be posted.

Register to reserve your spot today, because this class is limited to 40 live participants.

About Your Teacher

Hi! My name is Eve, and I help do-it-yourselfers who are starting new projects to design their own landscape, have more successful garden projects (big and small), and make the world a better place with the opportunity they have to do some landscaping.

My true identity? Honestly, I'm an introverted garden gremlin who lives under a mossy log somewhere deep in the forest. But every day, I crawl out from under that mossy log to teach landscape design and gardening. Because I LOVE helping people with their plants and projects. I'm a certified horticulturist, landscape designer, gardening teacher, and Master Gardener volunteer since 2011.

I'm based in the beautiful mossy pacific northwest corner of the USA, though I help students all over the globe get their landscape design ideas on paper.

I’m your gardening guide, here to help. I'm excited to offer landscape design guidance in the form of online courses and resources: to guide do-it-yourselfers like you through the landscape design process. Welcome to Garden Project Academy! Can’t wait to see what you create!

Here’s a picture of my first garden project (at the age of 7)— I planted a birdseed sunflower in my old Sesame Street cup. I was so proud, I asked my parents to let me use the family camera to take a picture.

"What if I can't attend live? Will there be a replay?"

Yes! Your registration includes 30 days of replay access
Replays will be sent out the next day (I just need a little time to compress + upload the large file)

"Do I have to show my face or talk in the workshop?"

I would love to chat and get to know you! But if you are feeling shy, you can turn your camera and sound off as you enter the meeting. After doing so, only your name and any Zoom profile image you have uploaded in the past will be visible (Log into your Zoom account to make changes to your name and profile before the meeting, if desired).
If you would like to ask a question, you can type it in the chat, unmute your microphone to speak, or turn on your camera (as you please). Attendees will also be able to see your name in the attendees list, as well as anything you put in the public chat.

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop will be recorded, so others can watch the replay. Please do not attend if you are not comfortable with this.

"Will there be closed captions? Or text on the slides?"

Yes there will be closed captions. You can turn on Zoom's automatic live closed caption generator tool. The replay will have better closed captions!

I will read + share the most valuable visual content verbally, so if you primarily listen to content, you'll have a great experience!

"Who are you/what is Garden Project Academy?"

My name is Eve Hanlin, and I'm a certified horticulturist, landscape designer, master gardener volunteer, and garden gremlin who daydreams about living under a mossy log deep in a forest somewhere.
I became obsessed with gardening at a young age and fell in LOVE with how collaborating with plants makes it so easy to make the world suck just a little less.

Here at Garden Project Academy, I help do-it-yourselfers like you to design your own landscape, have more successful garden projects (big and small), and make the world a better place with the opportunity you have to do some landscaping. Practical, ecological strategies and best practices that make a positive impact.

I offer online courses that you can take anytime (like my big course that guides you through the whole process of creating your own landscape design).
Online live workshops and replays (like this one you're reading about now).
And tons of FREE YouTube videos and online resources!

I have big plans for Garden Project Academy, so consider yourself here at the very beginning. Reach out! The best way to stay up to date on new resources is to follow my newsletter (I have good email manners and you can unsubscribe at the bottom of any email at any time).

Thanks and can't wait to help you with your next garden project!
